North Norfolk Photographic Society is always delighted to welcome Sarah Kelman. This remarkable lady is a fine photographer in her own right, and as such is an excellent photographic judge, but in addition is a keen sailor and flies jumbo passenger jets for a living. Sarah came to Cley to judge the club’s second Prints competition, which this time were required to be mono – in black and white.
There was an excellent number of entries, 56 in all, including several from new members. In these digital times, it is so much easier not to go to the trouble of producing an immaculate print, so it was good to see the wonderful prints produced.
Sarah gave her usual very perceptive comments on every entry and after setting 19 aside for further consideration awarded 4 Gold, 3 Silver and 4 Bronze awards, as well 4 Highly Commended and 4 Commended awards.
The Gold awards went to Paul Richards “Empathy Between Friends”, Judith Wells “Fulmars Claiming the Nest”, Paul Radden “Flying” and Hanne Siebers “Monty”. Paul Richards, Hanne Seibers and Robert Geldard (one of the new members) were winners of Silver awards and Judith Wells, Liz Akers, Lizzie Wallis and Nick Akers got the Bronze.
