Members of North Norfolk Photographic Society gathered on Wednesday 3rd November and welcomed back Dave Jordan, a judge who had visited the club before.
The occasion was the club’s first Print competition and Dave Jordan found he had to keep a lot of the 61 entries back for a second look before reaching his decision.
In the end, there were 2 awarded ‘Gold’, another 2 ‘Silver’ and 3 ‘Bronze’ - and 5 ‘Highly Commended’ and 6 ‘Commended’.
The winners, awarded ‘Gold’, were Paul Richards with ‘Mating Chalkhill Blues’ and Diana Knight with ‘Lion Family Loving Life’. Both stunning wildlife photographs, albeit very different, the first butterflies on a macro, close-up scale and the lions in a natural African setting.
Those awarded ‘Silver’ were Paul Richards – already the receiver of one of the ‘Gold’ awards with ‘Mountain Hare’ and Nick Akers with ‘Arctic Dawn’.
Two ‘Bronze’ awards went to Lizzie Wallis, one for her photograph ‘Dunlin Reflections’, and the other for ‘Proud Puffin’ and the third ‘Bronze’ was gained by Liz Akers with ‘Glashedy Island’.
